At Roving Spirit Dog Training I provide tailored, in-person 121 training and Online sessions for dogs of all ages and breeds.

I am a VSA-CDT, holding my certification from the Victoria Stilwell Academy and presently in my final year of a 3 year Canine Behaviour course with the School of Canine Science. I chose these colleges as they use compassionate and non aversive techniques. Training should be fun, NOT punishment!

I specialise in training Owners, as my background is 25 year working with young people and Adults, mainly with neurodiversity. Its not just the dog that learns in my sessions, you as the owner will get tuition too!

It all started with a rescue...

​

In 2002 I rescued my dog Fennel, who was the reason I began my journey into understanding dogs. She came into my world with a wealth of behaviour issues, and back then, I was way out of my depth.

​

I learned a lot from Fennel, I read countless books, watched endless training videos and spoke to what seemed like hundreds of dog owners and professionals. But I found the information all so contradictory and confusing. I wanted to find out how to learn the real science of dog training and do it the RIGHT way.

​

Eventually, I decided to leave my career working in Schools and sign up for a dog training course with the VSA. I graduated in 2019 and I was already dog sitting and when the pandemic hit at the end of the year.

​

At that time there was an influx of "lockdown dogs" and in a strange natural flow, I made the switch over to Dog Training.

 

It was almost like the universe had said "perfect timing, here are your first customers!"
